It was in France that I started painting. A profesional Greek artist taught me the essence of oil painting and the use of pastel. As a mostly self-taught artist I continued, painting outside in the open air whenever I could.

I moved to Spain, and there my paintings flourished, producing several big paintings. I expressed my dreams and the memories of my travels in my works.

Back in The Netherlands another artistic period started but the influence from the South comes back – I bring light and colour into every sketch I make.

Lately I have started to experiment with pigments – I use powders to mix my own paint. This produces a more vibrant and vivid colour, which ties in with my motto as an artist:

"Colour is Life"
